Booking and Cancellation Policy
(to assist you so that our policy is clear)
Itineraries and prices are subject to change without notice but we strive to avoid this.
BOOKING
Space on our kayaking trips is limited, we recommend you book ahead to avoid dissappointment. Pre-paymen in full is required to confirm the booking which in most cases is done by credit card. Once we have received your credit card details, this will be charged the full amount, and you will be contacted within 24hrs to confirm your successful booking. In the event of a late cancellation or no show please refer to the cancellation policy outlined below.
CANCELLATIONS
Due to the nature of our business and that we only work with small groups, cancellations affect us significantly and we apply a strict non-negotiable cancellation policy. We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance which covers all potential cancellation circumstances. A confirmed booking means that you and all members of your group have read, understood and accepted the conditions of our cancellation policy.
Fiordland Wilderness Experiences reserves the right to cancel or amend any tour due to road, water or weather conditions. If we have to cancel a tour due to such circumstances, you will receive a full refund.
If you wish to cancel we will keep a 10% administration fee. Date changes are available but not within 72 hours of departure.
You will receive no refund:
- If you give fewer days notice than the number of days in the kayaking tour,
e.g. 1 day tour = 24 hours notice 2 day tour = 48 hours notice, 3 day tour = 72 hours, etc.
(this includes unexpected illness or injury, vehicle breakdowns, etc); - if you miss the tour departure (e.g. sleeping late, unexpected illness or injury, vehicle breakdowns, etc);
- if you do not turn up;
- if we have to cancel the booking because of client unsuitability due to age, ill health, poor fitness, inappropriate physical size, intoxication, etc.
Please note at Milford Sound if the transport option is choosen from Te Anau and the kayaking is cancelled due to deteriorating weather when reaching Milford Sound, the kayaking is replaced by a boat cruise and an extended nature tour on the return journey (so the day is not wasted).
